The Workshop is involved in the initial training of students at the National Institute for Heritage, as well as in continuing education for museum, library, and archive professionals.
Training in Preventive Conservation and Supervision of Staff at the Senate Library
Direction of the Library and Archives, Senate (2021 to present)
The restorers from the Workshop regularly work at the Senate Library and Archives to train and guide staff in the principles and practices of preventive conservation. This includes handling, dusting, and creating packaging and display supports, all of which can be done in-house.
Training in Preventive Conservation, Maintenance, and Collection Management for the Staff of the Abbey of Cluny and the Ochier Museum, Coordinated by the Centre des monuments nationaux
Centre des monuments nationaux (2024)
The Ochier Museum houses a library with over 3,000 volumes. To ensure the maintenance of this important collection, a training session led by Geneviève Rager, Expert at the Centre des monuments nationaux, was organized for the museum staff.
Training in Preventive Conservation – Mission Coordinated by the Interministerial Archives Service
Departmental Archives of Corsica (2022)
Initiated by the SIAF and the Departmental Archives of Corsica, all staff at the Departmental Archives of Corsica received training in preventive conservation and collection maintenance, jointly conducted by Thi-Phuong Nguyen (SIAF) and Coralie Barbe.
Field School Project Coordinated by the National Institute for Heritage and the Louvre School, for Conservator, Restorer, and Registrar Students
National Archives (2019)
Field school projects offer valuable exchanges between conservation professionals in training. The project on plan mounts involved inventorying, recording material data, dusting, and packaging in roll boxes according to the technique developed by the National Archives Workshop.
